[There's a loud slam as the journal seemingly falls to the ground, starting the recording function. The first thing it picks up is stumbling, followed by frantic screaming. Loud, frantic screaming.]

F-FIRE! FIIIRE!

The bread machine is on fire!

[And cue hurried footsteps as Cheria rushes off to try and find water. She tried putting bread that was already buttered into the toaster, in hopes it would save time and make the toast tastier. Suffice it to say, this didn't end well.]

[Cheria stops in her tracks again.]

P-Pascal, where are you- [And then she notices the journal lying facedown on the ground. She hastily snatches it up. Once this is over, she'll have time to be embarrassed about having her fail recorded, but for now:]

The machine is on fire! You have to help me put it out! Get water! [Little does she know, throwing water on an electrical fire is a very bad idea.]

[Isamu had been on his way home when he heard the message, and he mutters something as he opens the door that sounds suspiciously like "Oh for fuck's sake" before yelling in the general direction of the kitchen.]

Just don't dump water on it, whatever you do!

[She was just filling up a bowl with water. It's a good thing Isamu stopped her, or the consequences would've been pretty dire.]

How much baking soda do we have, if any? Better yet, please tell me this place came equipped with a fire extinguisher...

[She glances around helplessly. Fire extinguisher? What would that even look like? She's just picturing a bucket of water, but if you're not supposed to use water, then...]

Ah, I'm sorry. I'm afraid I don't know what a fire extinguisher is. And I... I can't reach the plug. I can check how much baking soda we have, though!

Can you chop the cord? Shit, I don't know where the fusebox is. [If only he'd been able to pick up more magic aside from healing... Wind would be very useful right about now. Or a lack of it.]

[Oh dear, the toaster is starting to spark. That can't be good. Cheria will just rummage through the cupboards in search of that baking soda, then.]

Ah, I could chop the cord with one of my knives, but I was told that electricity and metal shouldn't mix. [Shake shake.] ... We still have half a package of baking soda.

The... bread machine? ...Wait, fire? Where?! Cheria, are you alright?!

[Oh good lord why is her journal recording this? She hastily dives towards it, trying to keep the toaster out of the camera's view.]

A-Asbel! I'm fine! It was... just a false alarm! Yes. [She laughs anxiously while the toaster continues to go up in flames.]

[Oh please, you'll have to do better than that, Cheria. Those flames are easy to see! And that looks like the kitchen.]

Hang on, Cheria! I'll be right there!

[In her blind panic, there's a fleeting moment in which she actually considers throwing herself onto the toaster to hide it from view and perhaps even put out the fire with her body. Then common sense kicks in again and informs her that's not a good idea at all.]

N-no! I can handle it! Really!

[NOPE TOO LATE, CHERIA. For, you see, Asbel was in the house, in his room, to be precise. So when he comes out, the fire's right in his line of sight.

...Whoa.]

[And this would be Cheria, trying to put out the fire without using water, because people told her that using water is baaad. There has to be something in these cupboards that can help!]

[As luck would have it, Richard happens to be out of the house doing some shopping when his journal catches a very familiar scream...]

Miss Cheria...? Hold on, I'll be right there!

[Voice]

Y-your Majesty! [Oh, this is so embarrassing. As if the situation wasn't bad enough already.]

Please don't trouble yourself. I... I can handle this!

[Richard winces a little at the use of "Your Majesty" over the journals, but there are more important matters than that to deal with right now.]

Is there something you can smother the flames with-- a blanket, a tablecloth...?

[Cheria's completely oblivious to the "His Majesty" issue. Why hide the fact that you're of noble blood in a place like this, where it won't endanger you, after all?]

The tablecloth is too thin- It might catch fire as well.
