Second page - [Voice]

[There's a loud slam as the journal seemingly falls to the ground, starting the recording function. The first thing it picks up is stumbling, followed by frantic screaming. Loud, frantic screaming.]

F-FIRE! FIIIRE!

The bread machine is on fire!

[And cue hurried footsteps as Cheria rushes off to try and find water. She tried putting bread that was already buttered into the toaster, in hopes it would save time and make the toast tastier. Suffice it to say, this didn't end well.]

And don't grab the fizzy kind of soda by accident!

[He's heading her way now WHAT IS THIS MESS, GIRL?]

Can you chop the cord? Shit, I don't know where the fusebox is. [If only he'd been able to pick up more magic aside from healing... Wind would be very useful right about now. Or a lack of it.]

[identity profile] ingrate.livejournal.com 2011-06-05 09:09 pm (UTC)(link)
Then just... No, let me do it. We'll hope it's enough for something.

[He holds out a hand so take the box. Best not leave this to the one that set it on fire in the first place.]

Wait, do we have salt? Get that too. We might have more of it.

Good. Bring it over.

[The baking soda will help, but he doesn't think it's enough to douse it completely. They need it smothered safely.

He grabs a large kitchen knife as he does this and brings it down swiftly on the cord at the closest spot available. The toaster's ruined anyway, so there's no worry about destroying any other part of it.]

Just dump it on. We'll get more later.

[Probably not the best decision, but at least the handle wasn't conductive.]

Yeah, just smother that shit. It hasn't spread on much else yet, right?

[identity profile] ingrate.livejournal.com 2011-06-07 07:12 am (UTC)(link)
Good.

Then this is where you thank me profusely for the help.

[identity profile] ingrate.livejournal.com 2011-06-07 10:40 pm (UTC)(link)
Well you didn't burn the house down. That's always a plus.

[identity profile] ingrate.livejournal.com 2011-06-08 08:37 pm (UTC)(link)
Yeah, yeah. Okay. [He waves off the apology.] You're forgiven, etc. etc.

[identity profile] ingrate.livejournal.com 2011-06-08 11:56 pm (UTC)(link)
Only when someone doesn't handle them properly.

...But I guess you're not used to that sort of thing, huh.

[identity profile] ingrate.livejournal.com 2011-06-09 10:22 pm (UTC)(link)
Then it's not entirely your fault that you don't know what to do with it, I guess.

You'll learn.

[Hopefully.]

[identity profile] ingrate.livejournal.com 2011-06-10 09:21 pm (UTC)(link)
Maybe. Best way to learn is just to watch others use them, though.

Eh. I'm in no hurry for toast. Don't worry about it.
