Does anyone here ever wonder about their future? The future in your own world, I mean. Do you think that spending much time here in Luceti may change what will happen when you return home, even if you do not remember your time here? [She pauses her writing, trying to find a way to explain what she means.]

For example, even if a friend from the same world as yourself has already told you what will happen when you return home, perhaps Luceti may have left such an impact on your subconsciousness that things will play out differently for you. I don't know much about the concept of timelines, but there could be deviations, could there not?

[Later that day, Cheria pays a visit to the library, in search of a few... particular books. She won't be asking for any help from the librarian and she'll take care not to have anyone nearby when she chooses her literature of interest.

Once she's found what she's looking for, she returns to house #28 as discreetly as possible. So discreetly, in fact, that it might be seen as suspicious. She makes sure the bag with her books is firmly closed, keeps a close eye out for anyone she might know and when she reaches the house, she removes her shoes immediately to tiptoe through the halls towards her room.

What could she be up to?]

Still, even if you don't have the memories anymore, there may still be lingering feelings or reflexes. Can the impact Luceti has on a person's being truly be undone just like that?

I've gone home and come back. I didn't remember anything about Luceti, but I guess anything's possible. Maybe something I learned here poked my subconscious enough that I made a choice differently than I normally would have. It's hard to say, though.

Yes, that's what I'm curious about. Whenever people experience moments that have a strong impact on them, they change a bit. Luceti is full of experiences like that.

I worry about it a little sometimes.. Ami-chan-- oh, that's my best friend here, I know her from back home.. she's here too, but she's from the future, so she knows all kinds of stuff I don't know yet! But that's why we don't really talk about what happens in the future for me, just in case..

Do you think knowing your future might upset you? Or are you perhaps worried that the memories of what you've been told may somehow be retained when you are sent home?

[Definitely suspicious. So suspicious that even Asbel notices Cheria's acting off. So when he spots her sneaking towards her room, he is admittedly confused.]

A-ah! [She starts and whips around, swiftly moving the bag behind her back to hold it there with both hands. Cue the anxious smile.]

Asbel! I was... just heading towards my room.

[It's been nearly a week since Richard finally returned home from his Valentine's self-imposed isolation thanks to Isamu's coaxing, but it's clear he's still very much out of sorts from the way he's mostly just been hiding in their room.

Unfortunately for Cheria, he still needs to eat every so often, and he happens to be on his way out to the kitchen to grab something to nibble on when he encounters her and gives a tired smile by way of greeting.]

Miss Cheria.

[Cheria would curse her luck, but quite honestly, the fact that Richard is even out of his room is more important than trying to hide her loot. Her fingers do clench the bag she's holding nervously, but she isn't going out of her way to move it out of sight.]

Richard! How are you feeling?

[He looks tired. Has he not been sleeping well? Maybe she should bring him some soup later. Hm...]

It would be pretty interesting if the time you've spent here could impact you enough to change you back in your world but... it doesn't seem all too possible.

My friend is from my future and I don't believe that I could stray from the path I will come to follow one day.

How about the small decisions you make? What you eat for breakfast, for example. Do you think something like that may be affected?

A lot of people might disagree, but I think it's pretty safe to assume that yes. Being here for any extended period of time is probably not something that's safe for our worlds and/or timelines.

...but from what I gather, most people who return home don't have any memories at all of this place. So I guess the short answer would be if their timelines did alter in any significant amount, it's likely because of a choice they made themselves that changed it. [That is to say... if anyone actually returns home. Since there has been several experiments that implant false memories into villagers, who can say for sure.]

I wonder if that means a person could end up on a slightly different timeline from their friends. Or, rather, the friends they met here, so to speak.

[Don's knowledge of journal controls is slowly coming back to him, and after a while he manages to link a conversation from earlier in the day.]

[Cheria frowns a bit at the link to that conversation, as she doesn't feel it's entirely her place to read a discussion between two people she doesn't know. Still, there must be a reason it was referenced to, so she'll have a quick look at it before replying.]

I think that I can still have whatever I would've gotten at home. Once I go back, I can catch up on all the time that I've lost. Still, it's hard to tell whether the events at home will transpire in exactly the same manner they would, had I never been here.

[In fact, what if some of the things Richard told her about happen because they'd been here and had their subconsciousness influenced in some way?]

[Pao-Lin's had a similar conversation months before, but meeting "future" Toph last month has brought it up in her mind again.]

I like to think that maybe I'll be a better Hero whenever I come back home as a result of being in Luceti, even if I don't remember anything about this place or the people I've met. I can't really think of anything specific, though.

I wish. I can't really say it's impossible, I'd certainly like it to be possible, but my hopes aren't high.

For now, I'll just take comfort in knowing other people know that things don't turn out the worst possible way.

Someone was here who was from over two hundred years in the past. He had a chance to stop a war. And I think he would have... if he remembered being here. But as far as I know, nothing changed. Everyone who has been here since then remembers things the same way I do.

What if, when the man from your world returned home, he did somehow retain a few memories and stopped the war? The timeline may have changed in your world, but not for you, because you were stuck in Luceti.

Or perhaps it created an alternate reality all together, so that there are two versions of your world. One where the war happened and one where it was prevented. [She read about that in one of Hubert's sci-fi comics once. She doesn't really understand the entire concept, but it could apply in this situation, right?]

I know a lot of people that do, but I don't. I already know what my future at home's like. [It's not really one he's looking forward to now knowing what he knows, but he's accepted it.]

What about you? Do you think about it a lot?

Lately, I've been thinking about it more and more. Does the future I've been told about happen that way because we were in Luceti for a while, or is the time spent here really going to be undone? Or does Luceti perhaps create a slightly different future all together?

It's so hard to tell.

In a sense, yes, I do. [If only because once upon a time, everyone that was here from Draco's world was from his future and told him everything.]

Personally I do think that it's plausible to think that Luceti may impact your subconscious in a way that you'll behave differently than you normally would. [Because really, why else would he be willing to try and help the trio back home instead of just letting them be handed off to Voldemort?] What makes you ask?

It was mostly curiosity, I suppose. I've been here for about nine months now, some of my friends even longer. It's hard to believe we can just go back home as if nothing had happened.

I've apparently left this world before, only to return with no recollection of being here the first time. Despite this, from what I've been told lies in the future of my world, I am uncertain if I truly would want to cause a deviation even if it were in my power. [The boy who was once his pupil is truly gone--Lloyd killing Mithos will be for the best, even if his chest tightens ever-so-slightly from thinking about it.]
