First page - [Video]

[The journal suddenly starts recording to catch a young woman's voice in mid-sentence. Sadly, the camera is directed towards the ground.] -at this button does... Is it broken?

This is hopeless. I'll never figure this device out. [A deep sigh.] If only Pascal were here...

[The image shakes, then tilts harshly until the camera is directed towards a stone ceiling instead. A hand swiftly moves past the screen.] ... Ah? What's it doing now?

[And finally, the journal is tilted one last time to show a girl with long pink hair, wearing a New Feather dress and staring into the camera with a confused expression.]

[The journal falls a short distance, but because Cheria was sitting, it lands safely in her lap.]

It's... It's on?

That's right! Just opening and speaking into it can trigger that. You didn't break anything.

I'm Rydia, one of the volunteers at Luceti's Welcome Center.

Luceti... That is the nearby village, correct?

[Her gaze wanders to the map, which is pinned to the New Feather station's wall. The village is clearly marked on that.]

Yes, though it can just as well be applied to the realm in general. There's only one village in this place.

You're at the watch station, right? Do you want me to come get you?

[When Asbel hears a strangely familiar voice that he hasn't heard in a while over the journal, he finds himself drawn to it. So he curiously opens his journal.

And that's when he sees her. He thought his ears might have been playing tricks on him, but not his eyes. It was Cheria... She was on the journal!]

...Ch-Cheria?!

[ Sophie would recognize that image and voice anywhere! She's kind of surprised to see her (Sophie thought Cheria was left back in their own world), but she's also very very happy to see her, too!

And it is made obvious by her excited tone. ] Cheria!

["One village in this place"? Now she's left wondering if they're on an island of some sort. But how would she even have gotten there overnight?]

Ah... Yes, thank you. Please do.

[Of all the familiar voices to hear, Cheria certainly hadn't been expecting this one. Needless to say, she's mildly startled.]

A-Asbel?!

[Excited tone or no, Cheria's a little shocked to hear Sophie's voice. The last time she saw her, Sophie was going back to Lhant with Asbel. Now it's coming from a strange book.]

... Sophie!

Cheria... It is you. [Richard goes home, and Cheria takes his place?]

Asbel, you... Where are you? Do you have one of these strange books as well?

I'll be there in a moment, then.

[And she means that literally. A moment later, she suddenly appears into view, thanks to her Warp spell.]

[Cheria isn't a complete stranger to teleportation, but the kind she's used to usually involves standing on top of a warp pad. She hadn't been expecting Rydia to suddenly appear in the room like that. That's why she gasps sharply, pulling the journal up against her chest in reflex.]

[After everything that's happened, it was comforting to hear Cheria's voice, even if he didn't expect to.]

I'm in the village, and yes, I do. But Cheria... Where are you?

I'm... not certain. It's a small stone watchtower of some sorts. [She pauses for a moment.] According to the map, it's called New Feather Station A.

[New Feather Station A... That's within the forest...]

...Alright. I'll be there as soon as I can.

[Rydia smiles sheepishly.]

I'm sorry. I should have warned you. It's a fair distance from here to town, so...this way is faster. It doesn't hurt.

[She relaxes a little, though she still looks cautious about this whole thing.]

That was... some sort of magic?

... That won't be needed. Miss Rydia already said she would come to get me in a moment.

[As much as she would love it if Asbel came to her rescue instead, she wouldn't want him to walk all this way over here just for her. Plus, she doesn't want him to see her like this- wearing such a ragged dress and aching all over. ... With wings. If Rydia comes to get her first, she can freshen up before going to see Asbel.]

[Rydia... Right, she was his... aunt? during that experiment. How confusing...]

...Well... If you're sure...

... I will see you when I arrive in the village. I shouldn't be long.

[Though if it's up to her, she'll have showered and found more decent clothing before meeting up with Asbel. Speaking of which...]

Where should we meet?

Ahh... I'll meet you in the village's plaza. There's a large fountain there, and all the shops are there too, so... I can take you to retrieve your belongings.

My belongings are in the shops? [She gets hit by the sudden thought that whoever robbed her must've been insanely fast to have pawned off all her things already.

Of course, she still hasn't been successful in locating the guide on this darned journal.]
